End of month yarn stats: 46 entries, 84 skeins, 23163.50 metres, 9483 grams.
I forgot about the pictures. I forgot to set a reminder. I didn't realize November was over.
I didn't buy yarn, and I did finish a project. It's been a difficult month - there was a loss (finale this Saturday), there was snow (ugh!), and there were many deadlines and changes at work.
December isn't going to be much better, I don't think. There's always so much going on. Ah, well, here are its goals:
1. Briefly contemplate the MKAL project and its lack of final project pictures.
2. Buy no yarn.
3. Drink tea daily.
4. Finish a project.
(I wonder if an increase in medication is warranted. Not willing to try to get a doctor's appointment, though. Not yet. Not unless it starts feeling difficult.)
December is finished. 2025 is finished. What a weird year.
I've been in a bit of a knitting slump this month. I started a new project (the hat), but then started another that was better suited for car knitting on the way to my work's Christmas party. I have since finished that, but it's not been blocked, pictured, and none of the ends are woven in, so I don't consider it officially finished. Kind of like the MKAL project that's still missing final pictures. Ahem.
I didn't buy yarn this month, but I did inherit some, so that's why there's an increase. I think I will continue to focus on using up stash, as I don't really have a lot of room for tons of yarn. I think this year I will try to schedule out some projects from my queue and do more spinning as well.
I haven't stressed about the medication as noted last month, and I suspect some of that had to do with a month-long battle with coughing from post-nasal drip. (Our building uses hot water for heating, and it makes everything very dry. We've been working on getting the humidity up and I think we might have hit a good point with all that.)
The beginning of a new year always feels fresh and full of potential, and I'm not really sure why there's that mentality. It's just a continuation of the previous day/week/month, and it seems to be quite a human thing to think about. People have their end-of-year/new-year traditions and superstitions, but when it really gets down to it, it's meaningless. (I'm starting to sound like the teacher from Ecclesiastes.)
I guess this is a round-about way to state that I'm not making new goals because of the new year, but because I'm still finding what works for me now that I have better control over my brain. I have been utilizing things I've learned to better manage things in other areas, and now it's time to look at the crafting area of my life. If I chunk away at things this way, it doesn't feel so overwhelming.
Anyway! January goals:
1. No yarn. Seriously, I don't really need any, and I have a bunch of stuff I oughta finish first.
2. Finish two projects (the kerchief, since it's almost done, and the scarf started in March).
3. Spin a little!
4. Unearth the WIP and see what's holding me back.
